“I continue to do art as a passion…if it ever became a career I would become bored. I never want to lose the sense of excitement when I can throw my stresses aside, take a break from the real world if for only a few hours and create a piece of art. Pastel is my chosen media for the simple fact that I can feel it. While painting is great… and pencils are nice… pastels are dirty! When I’m done with a picture you know I’ve been working. My hands are messy, my sleeves are rolled up, and it’s not unusual to have smudges of pastel on my face as well. While recently I haven’t found as much time to create pictures as I would like, I’m always willing to take on a challenge for someone, or just for myself. There is nothing I like more than making someone happy with a piece of work I have created. Whether it’s a smiling mother seeing her child recreated in a pastel painting to one of my best friends laughing about a picture that fits just right in his newly purchased home… it’s what I live for. A piece of me lives in each one of my pictures.”
